Paco Rabanne, Anything But L'Enfant Terrible!

Danielle Greene

I wanted to highlight a fabulous, lesser known (in the United States) label who I adore-Paco Rabanne!

His bags, clothes, and accessories were handmade in his French atelier, and they are a lovely marriage of art, fashion, and architecture. After working at Givenchy, Dior, and Balenciaga, he began his own fashion house in 1966.

He is a Spanish designer who infamously became known as l'enfant terrible of the 1960s French fashion world. Why the "terrible child" you ask? His complete unconventionality. Not only did plastic, metal, and paper dominate his bold designs, he also designed costumes for Barbarella (another reason I adore him)!

How funny that France, which prides itself for cutting edge designers would judge Paco Rabanne for being to modern for the times.

Here is Paco Rabanne's Website.
