Paris Inventory, Part 2

Danielle Greene

We left off at the amazing Hermes reseller I met at the French flea market, where I was dreaming of buying my very own Kelly bag one day.

Another Paris flea market fave was a shop filled to the brim with jewelry, buttons, fabric, and other nostalgia from France's past. While some of the most eye-catching items were prominently featured in the window and interior displays, some of the best stuff, the rare, unique items, were housed in dozens of drawers. The captains of this ship were two lovely women, who not only helped me hunt down certain Pierre Cardin items, but who also somehow knew the history of almost every item in the boutique-and there must've been thousands.

Paris Flea Market Finds

As you see behind us, one could easily spend hours sifting through these treasures. But, time was short and I was very pleased after a successful hour when I purchased two 1975 Pierre Cardin glasses frames, two Pierre Cardin necklace prototypes (mid 1970s), four lucite hand painted beetle brooches from the 1950s, and one other stunning pin of a hand (yes, a little surrealism).

Come back soon for the third installation of the Paris Flea Market blog. This last boutique is where I found some rare, lovely Chanel jewelry and a jacket.
